I WROTE A NEW BOOK!
Dear friends,
I finally get to tell you a secret I’ve been keeping: I wrote a new book that comes out on April 7, 2026. It’s called Joyful, Anyway.
Now, before we collectively roll our eyes: yes, I know. Life is very heavy right now. There’s the grief we can’t outrun, the ache that keeps us up at night, and the endless headlines that chase us with despair. And then—oops!—I forgot to answer that email chain about the school fundraiser. (It’s me. It’s always me.)
This book is about that—the ache we all feel, the mourning we can’t shortcut, and the absurd little flashes of joy that show up anyway. Joy in the middle of heartbreak. Joy in hospital waiting rooms. Joy in my kid asking me if there’s somewhere he can practice using grenades (???).
This is not a manual for “good vibes only.” It’s not a list of ten tips to make you finally happy. (Though if you want to buy a $70 water bottle the size of a toddler, go for it. I tried that too.)
Instead, it’s a companion for all of us who wonder if we’ll ever feel like life is enough…and who still catch glimpses of joy despite everything.
I’m proud of this one. It’s tender and a little unruly, and I hope it feels like someone sitting next to you, nudging you to believe joy might still find you. Yes. Even here.
I am completely in love with the cover.
You can learn more and pre-order right here. (Pre-orders signal to publishers and booksellers that people believe in this message, helping the book reach more readers and make a bigger impact from day one.)
Here we go, friends. I can’t wait for you to read it.
With love (and JOY),
Kate

What a great cover!!
I haven’t even read the post fully yet but I’m so excited. Your words soothe the ache of some of this chaos. Thank you for continuing to create and share with us. I appreciate you. 💜
